Getting tired of searching for a scrim or esl match for hours? Want a simpler, faster and easier way to request a scrim or esl match? Let me introduce http://www.aascrim.eu the new smart way to find scrims.
What is it? Its basicly a webbased irc client. Just go to http://www.aascrim.eu then choose a username and press connect, and VOILA! you will be in a chatroom with lots of americas army teams where you can easily find a scrim. No need to download anything or register anywhere. Just go to http://www.aascrim.eu, connect and start scrimming.
Lots of teams use MSN to find scrims. But MSN have a big disadvantage becouse you need to have a special msn account and ad lots of contacts. This is too time consuming and unnecessary. Another bad thing for MSN users is that you need to PM everyone specificly in order to contact them.
But if your visiting http://www.aascrim.eu you only need to request a scrim ONCE, then lean back and wait for a answere. It couldnt be simpler!
When you join the channel you will also see a history of the previous scrim requests so you dont miss out on any opportunitys.
You can send private PMs to people just by clicking on their names and send a pm. If you have sound enabled you will hear a notification when you recieve a pm (currrently it seems like firefox users dont hear the sound, this is a bug and will be fixed soon i hope).
You can ofcourse use mIRC or any other irc client to join the chat. But the disadvantage is that you need to configure the client witch some people find difficult to do.
So spread the word and start using IRC to find scrims. It couldnt be easier!

So how does IRC work? Basicly you connect to a big chat room where there is alot of AA players and clans. Just ask for a scrim (practice match) in the chat and wait for someone to reply.
How do i connect to the IRC chat? There is several ways. The easiest way is to use http://www.aascrim.eu just choose a nickname then start chatting. This will get you connected to our IRC chat #aascrim @ quakenet.
Another easy way to connect if you are using firefox is to download this little plugin https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/downloads/file/41198/chatzilla-0.9.84-mz+fx+sm.xpi then just click on this link irc://irc.quakenet.org/aascrim
Since IRC can be really advanced and you can do ALOT of stuff with it you can also try a more advanced client. The drawback is that you need to configure the client. The most used client is called mIRC and a guide to set it up is located here http://www.teamwarfare.com/forums/showthread.asp?forumid=160&threadid=340949
I hope that more people will use IRC since its a faster and easier way to find scrims then using MSN. Next time you are searching for a scrim be sure to ask in #aascrim while you are searching.
