Follow these steps:
- Go to the main teamwarfare.com page
- Login if needed
- Click the "join a ladder" button
- Select your desired ladder
- Click "join ladder"
Keep checking the main page, and you will see ladder info right above the news, where the "join a ladder" button was before.
Click the "admin" link in it daily to stay active and challenge up when need be.
Good hunting.
"Can I delete my name?"
Yes, but only if has never had an anti-smurf ID (PB GUID/STEAM ID etc) associated with it. In order to get your name deleted, check this thread.
"Can I get a new Forum title?"
Yes, just ask here for one.
"Can I change my username?"
Yes, just visit this link and request your new name. (This link is available on your profile page)

At this point there isnt any feed back from the system. If your name is approved, your name will simply change the next time you visit the site. We will add a feedback system later on.
All name changes must be approved by Site Support, they are not instant. Please do not request more than once a day. Name change requests are checked daily. Site Support will deny on the spot any vulgur/obsene names, so dont' waste your time. Also, if your account is in a status of banned or suspended, the request will be denied.
Also, do not request names with upper ascii characters, <>, + characters or http address formats. You will have issues with your profile if you have them. They will also be denided when reqeusted.
Due to a few abuse members of name change the following goes into effect: Users are allowed 5 name changes in a 90 day period. So use caution not to be stuck with a name you really didnt want.

Yes, please post here for those requests.
"I need to change the founder of my team, who do I contact?"
If you are the founder, you can pass the team to a player on your roster through your team's admin panel.
If you need to 'usurp' your teams founder, for whatever reason, you must contact your game admin found here.
Keep in mind that changing founders is a vote process. You will need to have 2/3 of the entire team vote yes to change founder status. We won't just change it because you ask. But before voting you must contact one of the people listed above.

look here for a list of admins. Locate your ladder, and click the proper admin's name.

The quickest way to try and contact an admin is through IRC:

Anyone who is opped (has a @ by their name) is a staff member and can point you to the appropriate admin, or even possibly help you themselves.

Make note: Despite many efforts on the programmers’ part, it still seems that TWL works best with Internet Explorer, versions 5 and up. Netscape and other browsers are known to be a bit buggy with the site's coding. To be sure you have the latest IE, check the Microsoft page and go to the downloads section.

In order to get a ladder started on TWL, get these 4 things together:
Support from at least 20 teams
Rules
Admin
Support from Senior Staff / Competition Directors
Try posting in the New Games Discussion Forum.

If you go to register a team and it returns you to that screen with empty fields, then that means the team name is taken. Right now there is no error screen, but one should be put in place soon.
Either way, you need to pick a new team name.

You must be the team founder to change any of that information. But to change the info, do the following:
Open your team roster page (usually under your name menu, and under "My Teams")
Click the "Edit Team Information" Button
Fill in the appropriate boxes (Team URL, Description, and Picture URL)
click submit -- images should be no bigger than 200 x 200 pixels
your details are now updated
"How do I promote a captain on my team?"
You have to be a team founder for a team captain to do this.
- Go to your team's roster page
- click the "Admin [ladder name] Ladder" button
- Scroll down to the bottom of that page
- You should see a dropdown box with a list of player names in it with a "Promote Captain" button under it
Highlight the player you wish to promote
- Click the "Promote Captain" button
That player is now a captain of that team on that particular ladder
"How can I link to Team Warfare? Do you have a button?"
Sure do, check it out.
Simply copy that to your website (please don't off-site link...we'll rename it if we have to ), and link to http://www.teamwarfare.com.

Well, besides keep using it and providing useful feedback so we can go make it better, there is one way. TWL does accept contributions via PayPal. We don't really beg for money, but, it can't hurt when it's thrown at us, ne?

Team Warfare doesn't have, or will add a forum search function. Searches are a major database hit and would murder the server performance.

Actually, the forum mod likely moved or deleted it. Most often it is the former. If a thread is off-topic for the forum it is in, it will be moved.
If it's content is inappropiate, it will likely be locked.
If it was outright slanderous, it goes away. However, if this is the case, you might be going with it, sorry to say.

This is often a cookies issue. Make sure your browser is set to accept cookies from teamwarfare.com.
However, if that fails, try using our http://www.teamwarfare.net site
It's the same site, yet (somehow) fixes this issue easily.

Then by all means, post your questions in this forum.
Tips for posting
Don't just put "help" as a topic. If you're here, then we know you need help (don't we all? ). Try and summarize your problem in the topic. Makes it easier to know what tools we need to get out (or if we need to hit the fridge before starting work on this one) to fix the problem at hand.
Look through previous posts (and this FAQ too, it gets updated) for your answer.
This is NOT where you post no-show reports of ANY sort!, we've email addresses posted for that...

 HOW TO SIGN-UP ON TEAMWARFARE

Creating an Account
Before you can do anything besides just visiting the site, you have to register. This is done by creating an account. How you create an account is described below.
1. Go to the Teamwarfare.com site
2. Go to the ‘my twl’ and then click ‘Register’
You have to fill in the Name/Password/Emailaddress boxes. Be sure you put in a valid emailaddress, because a validation-email with an activation code will be sent to that address.
2.2 Acceptance
If all did go well this message should appear and you’ll get an email from the automailer on Teamwarfare. If not then you have to do the registration again.
2.3 Email
When you get the email from Teamwarfare click the appropriate link for activating your account. After this you got autodirected to the Teamwarfare website and you will be automatically logged in.
Logging into an account
When you click the link from the activation email you automatically log in.
Another possibility is to log in at the Teamwarfare website itself. Go to http://www.teamwarfare.com, then ‘my twl’ and click ‘Login’
Here you have to fill in your account data. Then press LOGIN
When you log in the first time you have to do age verification. You must be older then 13 to join Teamwarfare. Click the appropriate link.
Setting up your GUID
For every game you play at Teamwarfare you need a GUID (globally unique identifier). This GUID is found in every game you buy, it’s like a serialcode. The GUID prevents smurfing, cheaters getting back in the game, etc. This you can find in ‘member profile’. ‘add another id’
Select the appropriate gametype then type in the correct GUID obtained from your game.
How to obtain a GUID please follow the steps explained in the ruleset of the game you play.
Creating a team
You cannot compete in Teamwarfare if you do not have a team. Whether it is a one mans army or a full packed squad, you need a team. Follow these steps to create a team.
1. First you have to be logged in.(see ‘Log in to an account’)
2. Go to ‘MyName’, then ‘Account Maintenance’ and finally ‘Register Team’
3. Fill in the registration page for creating team
Team E-mail: Put in the teamfounder emailaddress. When you team is challenged a notification mail will be sent here. You will also recieve ladder news for you participating games on this map, so be sure to enter an valid email.
Join Password/Confirm Password: When a member of teamwarfare wants to join the team he has got to have this password to be able to join.
When your done click the Create Team.
Whoever creates a team is ‘founder’ of a team. He can assign Teamleaders, challenge others,etc.
Joining a ladder/league
After creating an account and a team, the next step is joining a ladder or league with the team. The easiest to join is the ladder.
Quick explination: in the ladders teams can join and quit when they want. They can challenge almost everyone above their current rung. There are powerladders and rungladders. In the rung ladders teams switch rungs according to loss/win. In powerladders a team get points according who they attack/defend from followed with a win/loss, the more points the higher they get.
Before a new member can enter a team, the founder needs to join a ladder or league. He can do this by clicking ‘MyName’, ‘My Teams’, ‘My Team Name’
Here the team profile can be found. Everything handled by teamfounders and teamcaptains is done via here. To join a ladder/league click on ‘Join New Competition’.
Here all ladders/league are shown via dropdowns.
Click on the ladder you want to join and goto the specific game/ladder
Be carefull choosing the right ladder. There are for instance European (EU) and North-American (NA) ladders.
Choose the correct ladder/league and press join ladder/league (in this example a ladder was chosen)
Now you see the ladder in your Team Profile.
How to get players into your team
After a ladder has been chosen and joined by the founder, others can join that ladder. After logging in, the new members have to go to the Team Profile. Either by direct link (URL) or searching (explained below) one can get there.
How to search a team. Click 'MyName’, then ‘Search’. You can search ‘By Name’ or ‘By Tag’
File in the correct tag/name
After that you get the results of the search. Click the correct clan.
In the Team Profile you see which ladders/leagues the clan is involved with. For each one you want to join you have to click ‘join’. NOTE a player needs to join ALL ladders or leagues to be eligelle to play.
When you click join, a message will appear asking you the join password for the clan. The password is the one the founder filled in under ‘Team Profile’, ‘Join Password’
If you filled in the correct password you are added to that specific ladder
Using the forums
From this point on you are logged in at the Teamwarfare website. Here you can do various things. Like visiting the forums, examining the rules, comparing other clans, etc.
Example: Visiting the forums. You can either click on ‘forums’ to go to the forum itself or you can go to a specific part of the forum e.g. the CoD2 forum, ‘forums’, ‘Game Specific’, ‘Call of Duty 2’.
