I'm curious to know if any of the old Americas Army players play Battlefield 3 now (either publicly or competitively).
I picked BF3 up in January and began playing competitively shortly after. I couldn't help but notice that my transition from competitive AA (which I last played in December of 2007) to 4v4 squad rush in Battlefield 3 was a very easy one to make.
I feel like BF3 excels in many areas that AA struggled in. The pace of play is considerably faster in BF3 due to the revives and ticket-based gameplay. It's a nice twist on AA's round-based play. The shooting and movement mechanics are very similar. There is less reliance on nades and flashbangs don't exist. Battlelog is like a built-in aaotracker + xfire. The June patch finally put the game in a polished state.
On the down side, the game does lack spectator mode and battle recorder and it could use a few more good competitive maps. If anyone is looking for a new game to compete in, I recommend you give it a chance. Feel free to post your battlelog name, my soldier name is "DiiLON".

herpes.iog ....
i was playing with coach, terror, keith, and a couple other red dawn guys a while back. I know they all are still playing bf3. I was not really a huge fan of the game, it was just something to play at the time. me and hyperlite play mw3 with some of the old Lost Cause guys -Lc. We won the first S and D league but that game has died pretty quickly and were kinda tired of it.

Hey Dillon
I've been trying to get into Team Fortress 2's 6v6 community. That game is fun as shit to play competitively. Only a couple of guys from AA are pretty well known over there, like Spanker and some dude from Parental Advisory.

And I play Black ops. and MW3 when time permits.. just starting a new blops season. Played BF3 for awhile.. not to bad, but not like BFBC2 which I thought was pretty good.
