They may very well be, but you missed the point. You came and asked the community to communicate with you, and in return you give us a blank statement saying some random misc changes are coming.
Personally, I'm going to take that blank statement as if you are adding an option to GG to slay a whole team if any friendly fire occurs. Ofcourse this probably isnt' what you are doing, but do you see the point here? You ask for specifics and you give vagues.
Actually to be honest Spike... We're not slaying the whole team but pretty damn close.

Well Spike the only thing I can tell you is to step and volunteer then. If you're not going to volunteer or step up, then I recommend you wait to see what we have coming in the next month.
We volunteer as much time as we can to keep TWL working properly but we also have full time jobs or are full time students.
As for the following statement,

That's not even accurate.
I beg to differ and Captain Squarepants will confirm that we are always in contact and always talking about things related to TWL.
So unless you actually have any proof that we don't speak or communicate... I invite to shut it!
There's currently no way to even correct an invalid entry. Telling us to "fix" them ourselves isn't exactly going to work.
We check regularly for invalid Steam ID entries and e-mail participants about it giving them 48 hours to correct it. We also quote the rule section about it which explains the valid format. Here's the phrase from the rules itself
Note: All Steam ID’s should be formatted as x:x:xxxxxx, if a Steam ID is missing any part the player will be considered ineligible for the match.
As for an ACS, Feel free to contact ac@teamwarfare.com and speak to them. As far as we know, there are no good solutions for CS:S. We have tried some in the past to have them fail on us.
As for ES scripts to watch for cheats, I will discuss this with Monday as he knows the full capabilities of ES more then anyone else
So as I mentioned above, unless you are willing to help solve the problems instead of only complaining about the problems then you can shut it and keep your inaccurate statements to yourself.

I'd also like to add that the appeals process is woefully inefficient and needs to be streamlined considerably. I'm glad that Defiant and others seem to be gone, so maybe new admins will be more competent. I've had appeals drag on for months, which is obviously unacceptable.
Admins would be more competent if they get trained properly to begin with right off the bad and not months in. It all starts from the top, the experience I had was not getting trained and then being asked to train new people without most of the training myself.
This is another aspect of TWL that needs to be improved in my opinion.
I don't know how long I was CM but when I stepped down I still had not had training yet I take the blame. I have no problem taking the blame.
Defiant,
I know you got bumped up to CM when I took a leave of absence but when I was CM, I ensured my admins had proper training and always took time to answer questions and communicate with them regularly to make sure everything was good and I still continue to do that today.
I've also made sure that the Lead Admin give out training also. I agree that your superior is suppose to train you to do your job but if you didn't receive any training then it is up to you to step up, ask questions and request proper training instead of complaining of not receiving proper training.

I AM helping... or trying. Very little of what I have taken my time to post has been a complaint. I have offered up assistance, as well as ideas and even specifics on numerous occasions and though I have pointed out areas that need attention, I have most certainly not been the bitchy type.
I am simply pointing:
- you asked for ideas
- we gave them
- you decide not to use them but also not say what you are doing
- you then bitch about not having time
You not having time isn't the community's problem and has nothing to do with this thread.
Now then, your comment about me "shutting it" is borderline breaking your own forum policies.
Oh, and you focused on the wrong part of your own sentence. Monday did not create Gungame, though he certainly has a lead role in GG5 and GG5.1 development.
/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/
Edit:
Upon proofing my own post (I do this for all posts, you should try it), I decided to retract the part about complaining. You know what? You're right, I AM complaining, but you are wrong about the 'what'. I am not complaining about what's wrong or what needs fixing. I AM offering up solutions and trying to be proactive on THAT front. My complaints and bitching is merely directed at the hypocrisy of threads like this and the unwillingness to WORK at a solution. When you ask for ideas next time, do us all a favor and post what you really want: someone to fix it for you.
/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/
This thread is quickly devolving in a very sad way.

I'm open all day, but I'm not installing Vent.
What's with the constant opposition to being open or using steam or email?
I'm at work right now and will not be voice chatting but will be more than happy to give you some time for a private chat on steam.
Edit:
Check your twl email Juvix Post edited by Spiked at 5/4/2012 2:49:11 PM

That's the other problem, admins jump to conclusions, no one was complaining about not being trained, I was just stating it was part of the problem. It took over 4 months for me to get trained as admin, just continued doing what I was doing when I became lead admin and got told to stop so the other admins had something to do and then got moved to CM had a little training and Juvix and I couldn't get together because we both have busy lives and that is why I stepped down, I have a volunteer life outside of TWL and being President of the volunteer club was consuming a lot of my time and things pick up more in the summer so I figured might as well drop TWL since I can't drop work

a simple solution to the guid would be to reject it or give an error message if the guid doesn't match a format. for example, if their entry includes letters, if it is less/greater than a certain number, etc.
if guid has letters, display error
if guid > 12 total characters (including colons, etc), display error

I think that would be a terrific idea as well! That can be time consuming checking Guids and the time saved could be used for other activity's.
Spiked, you can tell us what you want to happen in the rules, game-play, etc all day, but how we implement those ideas are left up to us. So there is a chance that you may or may not like how we deal with the problem. All I am saying is that if you want something changed or there is a legitimate problem, loop-hole etc, you need to let us know exactly what that is, not generalize and how you would like to see that fixed. Were not asking you to do our job, but any input is welcome and it helps clear up the "Grey area" about the admins not listening to ideas.
Please anyone that wants to have any input on changes to rules etc feel free to email me and i will be sure to read, respond, and pass on ideas.

Yup it does get in the way, btw, I would recommend having a training person who takes care of all training for incoming hires. just my opinion.

I remember when twl used to be the league to be in for gungame players. Lets take a minute and start looking at the real problem. The league was fine interest in gungame itself has died down. Not to sound blunt or anything but do you know how hard it is to find a gungame server these days that doesn't have gay addons on it like throwing knives, or low grav. I really don't think there will ever be a gungame ladder like the ones in the past. My advice stick to the tournaments.

We hosted 2 servers w/o silly addons for years and they slowly became empty. I can turn them back on in seconds flat but there's no point if they will sit empty. Want somewhere to play gungame without the silly BS and don't want to fund your own? Toss me a couple bucks a month (seriously, just some change) and I'll turn ours back on. My dedi is literally sitting there unused at the moment.
