Does this tournament need to be started now? There are 3 spots open and I feel like another week would fill them... plus OBC needs to get 5 and a handful of players need to enter their steam id.
Second, having the default day Saturday is silly in my opinion... It is nice that you are giving us 3-4 days of flexibility in there but I would say that some matches are going to have to wait a 5th or 6th day.. Hopefully that will be okay, winning/losing by default is stupid and nobody wants to win/lose that way.
And lastly, since the ladder is all but dead a lot of teams haven't played competitively in awhile... Coordinating five guys in a short period of time could be disastrous. (By that I mean it is very likely we will request to play our match next Monday/Tuesday and utilize the 2-3 day after rule since people have plans most weekends and we haven't been "scheduling" a day to all be on.)
I'm not saying this is being somewhat rushed, but I think another week of pushing people to get 5/Steam IDs ready will help everyone. Post edited by loveglove at 2/29/2012 9:46:12 PM

Understood. This will be taken into consideration. What would be a better day for a weekly match in you opinion?

If it has to be on the weekend it has to be Sunday night... But we had more success with weekday nights and usually it was a Tuesday or Wednesday night thing... I can't speak for every team though.

In definite agreement with loveglove on all fronts. The schedule that's been put forth seems rushed, and the Saturday slot is problematic for most people. When we were active on the ladder, we played the majority of our matches (95%, I'd say) on Sunday through Thursday. To be quite honest, it's hard to get people to put away their weekend plans for Counter-Strike.
Also, it would be great to open up the rosters and team slots for a bit longer. Think it would benefit the tournament if there were 16 legitimate teams with players who actually wanted to play. In my experience, it hasn't been easy reaching out to some of my regulars to get back into the fold because they've been busy, so I'm having to look for alternates, etc.
Cheers.

Another thing to consider... 8 teams on the top end of the bracket with 5 on the bottom... Post edited by loveglove at 3/1/2012 6:18:39 PM

No I really haven't.. the situation with Party Hats was complex... You guys didn't show up at the AGREED upon date+time and then 25 or 30 minutes later your team suddenly had 5 in the server (after a few of ours had logged off) and demanded that we forfeit or reschedule via match comms. We were willing to reschedule but your times did not work with ours and we were being told by TWL that the match had to be played by a certain date. We did what we could and followed the rules; but unfortunately since we couldn't agree on a time shortly after that and given the manner in which your teammates responded in comms it was a fairly easy decision.
Either way, played or unplayed... the end result would've been no different.
