thanks for the reply reflex.

Does twl have any money that could be put toward something like paying hyrdra to update cdc? Would he even do it with payment?

Edit: I'd like an August league, but keeping in mind time for league advertisement, registration, and these new additions, late August or September sounds like the earliest it can be done well.

I think September sounds good - and yes the time between the league start and now should be put toward making teams registers - I posted the list of teams earlier that are actually "present", there might be more teams as we progress that will pop out - but the teams on the league should be conctacted, mostly the open leagues one, they are the one that needs to be reached.

And yes, keep this open even if there is side banter, that is unevitable, no one here agrees completely on everything - you just gotta make the best out of it.

I really dont even see a need to wait that long. I think we should start up the leagues asap so that we keep what few players we still have. A long offseason is just a chance for players to move to other games and there are currently no leagues in session. But there definately needs to be a better job of advertising and we should wait to get all of those open teams to join and maybe that will be September.

Also, I would like a revote on map times. I forget what the silly times were but I think sandstorm and mout were 4 minutes. Both of those maps should be 2 minutes (along with urban and tunnel). Adding more time to the non-attacking maps just adds more time to camp. No one makes a move until a minute left anyways.

I'm really liking the unique maplists in this thread. I say this because some of my favorite matches were on maps like village, csar and radio tower where it is commonly accepted that the defending team shouldn't lose a round. And tbh playing the same set of 5 maps for years is pretty boring.

As for people who cheated on client there is no way that their bans should ever be lifted. Forum bans and other such silly bans on the other hand should all be lifted at this point. Everybody has had years to mature and it doesn't take much effort to ban people again.

On the topic of when the league should start I agree with rainmaker. Every year it feels like the majority of the teams playing vanish during the off season(s) so I too see no reason to wait.

I can ask Hydra how he feels about it, not sure if his willing to do any updates even if he got paid.

I think masood just made good points on bans...

if CDC banned a player from cheating... he/she doesn't deserve to be unbanned..

if a player was banned for smurfing.. unban that person... i don't see any reason why a smurfer should be banned for life, just for playoffs is my honest opinion...

all forum bans should be lifted.. there's no reason you should eliminate your playing field.. getting drunk does happen and ppl post shit (i'm one of those.. lol).. keep it on record but lift the ban..

about SS and mout, neither should be moved to 2 minutes.. 10minute matches are just as useless as 90minute ones.. should be kept to 3 at the least..

oh and @ Reflex.. I'm surprised you remembered the xFire statement, I think I mentioned that in a different thread..

but yes, all Admins (especially the new pub admins) need to learn how to use xFire to communicate with all players.. its a hell of a lot easier.. nobody wants to run 30 apps just to get a solution.. just pisses off a pissed off player even more..

It would be so much better if irc was more of a mainstream thing. At this point me and chrones are the only people idling #aacrim 24/7

What do you need the extra minute for other than making matches longer? All I can remember from when I last played (mout/ss) was both teams would cover the same spots for however long it took with little to no action and then you'd make your move with a minute or less so the other team wouldn't have time to respond. 2 minutes would be perfect for those 2 maps, unless you enjoy staring at doorways and sitting in corners too much.

SS, mout, ua and ct all feel like 3 minute maps to me. 2 minutes gives too much of an advantage to certain sides. ie Honor on mout

My only example of ridiculously short rounds has to be when cevo p had 3 min wc.

and @blu add an 's' to that and my point still stands. Even twyx who is the only op that I know of doesn't idle #aascrim.

thats the point of AA.. you make the time too short and you have people just running around like chickens (counter strike- 2) action.. and you take strategy and waiting out of it..

i hate waiting too, and I agree, camping/waiting sux.. but too quick and it really is pointless to have much of a strategy other than a rush one..

i was joking you silly goose. I knew i should of put [/sarcasm] at the end of it

and map times:

Mout 3 mins
Sandstorm 3 mins
Weapons Cache 4 mins
Weapons Cache Se 5 mins
River Basin 5 mins
Mountain Ambush 5 mins
Bridge SE 5 mins
Urban 3 mins
Insurgent Camp 3 mins
Collapsed Tunnel 3 mins
Pipeline 4 mins

2 mins is too little time.

Anti virus programs don't like programs that scan your computer while talking back to an outside server. While it is a legit program most AV software is going to flag it as a virus because it functions similar to one even though it is not.

No, it's picking it up even when CDC isn't runnning.. as soon as I downloaded the .zip file and unzipped it my av flagged it immediately...

Like Russ said, it's false positive. Many AV report it as a problem but rest assured, CDC software downloaded from this site is safe to install and use. This issue has been covered multiple times in our AC support forums
