Shrikes are fun to mine-disc.
I think they are pretty inneffective nowadays with IP though.

I get rammed occasionally, but I also get backlanced out of nowhere sometimes too. The best shriker in any future tournament is likely hexy, and I would probably be rammed a few times per map. But I would much rather deal with hexy in a shrike than hexy as LD because they are so easy to take out. It isn't even worth attempting the ram.
There is a reason ZP didn't attempt many HO rams. I will promise 95 percent of the time I will destroy the shrike and usually follow up by killing the pilot.
Shrikes are really best incorporated into flag D with flares, ramming, chasing cappers, and watching the stand.
Vax, the only reason you get rams at all is because the other guy is bad, not because you are good. The shrike simply isn't very powerful at direct combat vs HO.
I don't go after HO that are looking at me...
I don't think any shriker goes after a HO that is directly watching them fly right into their face
It's all about catching them while they're lolspamming or on their lolroute so they can get lolpunted 500+ meters across the map
I'm usually just looking for cappers to be honest and if I find a HO that isn't paying attention then gg 10 points
Also god only knows how many times I've rammed you. Your 95% estimate is probably more like a 15% against me.

Here are the details of our encounter:
1) My HUD tells me you are near me. I open CC and find you.
2) I look around.
3) I kill your shrike
4) I kill you with chain gun.
5) I laugh at you.
6) I destroy your team's base while giving you a lecture in global about proper vehicle use.
7) I can't see your response. You are muted.

I don't think you see my point. But that should be expected considering. I can still vote so you should just take my word for it.
The point is, yes your team might win. But you wouldn't be able to do anything against me or other HO shield that know how to play and deal with shrikes.
The only reason you are having any success in a shrike is due to the lack of HO depth in the tournaments. If you were to try to utilize your shrike against an organized team with actual HO (Darkstrand, me, hawson, julius, snipah, CPM, Tarzul, ect..) you would likely lose or be unable to even use vehicles. The shrike isn't this dominating force that when you put 2 shrikers on a map its going to beat everything. HO is.

LOF isn't a real position either. You can basically put anyone you want on LOF since LOFS just die vs good teams anyway. LOFS are good in the tourney due to lack of HO depth.

generally ppl on HO are there because they dont have the aim 2 be an LD
doesnt take much aim to run a route and spam the stand..nor does it take much awareness
u r unimpressive in both skill and brains

Every position is important in T2, from MD all the way to capper.
The ease of the position really depends on what you are up against, and the support you are getting from your own team. LoF can be a really difficult position if the offense you are up against is putting a tremendous amount of pressure on you, and the other defensive players on your team are not effectively alleviating it.
Capping can also be a really difficult position if you are up against a really good LoF with strong defensive support, and the other offensive players on your team are not effectively disrupting..
All in all, it's stupid to say that any one position is worthless. The answer will always be: "it depends". Right?
I always find it funny when people say capping is just running routes.. So I guess being able to MA BBing LD and disc hofs out of the way moving at 300 kph isn't important. And I guess timing your approach to grabbing the flag around when your offense is actually disrupting the flag doesn't matter either. Damn I must have missed something..

It doesn't take much skill to avoid spam either, I wonder why more often than not you still get owned by it. When its coming from a mile away even.
That spam is as easy to see at distance as your wife. I guess it also blows up in your face and makes a cha ching sound when it kills you, which could explain why it so easily slips passed your defenses.

Sometimes it is hard to dodge spam though Kambul. Especially when you got more than 1 HO doing it at the same time or you are trying to shake off an LO trying to kill you on the stand.
HO can also be hard to play if you are up against LD who are really good at killing HO. If someone like HeXy is stalking you it can be hard to be an effective HO.
It just depends..
