Since the forums are dead here, let's spill a couple beans...

Mine was the final match in the first TWL tourney for AA3. There was soooooo much trash talk leading up to the finals between nK and ST-6. I cannot remember the final score but the last seconds of the match went down like this...

I was the last alive, perhaps red and bleeding I think. In the background on ventrilo, there were at least 2 separate arguments going on about who did what, why and who got who killed. I remember being unable to get any silence and not having a mute key bound. I tucked in that spot to the left leaving tunnels right before the jump up wall on impact and camped for a second unable to hear or think for that matter. Who knows, I might have been bitching as well, but that doesn't sound like me

Their last guy was on a scenic stroll leaving central house building heading towards table room. He didn't bother looking down and I capitalized on it, putting an end to all the trash talk with the help of my squad. Things could have been a lot different but got amazingly lucky given the situation. Would have loved to go out with an amazing firefight but still happy considering...

Anyone care to share the dirty about a memorable experience during a TWL match?

Best match i remember was vs. the eu twl admin...

Our clan was fresh founded with fresh members and not all were already registered here. That evening we missed one in the twl registered player because of pc problems.

we were hoping he get it fixed but 5min before it was clear we wouldnt make it. So we ask our long time "friends" : How about player x jumps in? he is here but not registered so far. Answer:NO

ok,we said...why?you play daily with him you know he is ok and we thought you want a good fight.. Answer: NO NO NO,you have to understand that im the admin and i have to stick to the rules.I cant make an exception.

We: ok,fine....How about reschedule? Answer: Again, i cant make stuff like that.you have to play now with 3 guys.....

We: disconnect from the server ....

Was a great example how a good position in a simple ladder corrupt people if they are able to do it....

there were problems with players, servers, settings, rules with almost all other teams from both sides but we always got it solved in a friendly manner. But he had to follow his rules

great game,ill never forget

Flatlander,
you challenged us and on scheduled match day and time you did get your team ready.
We're prepared whole evening to the match and you did not have a team.

If you think it's our fault then I have tell you that you are wrong.

Ladder Eligibility

A player may only play on 1 team per ladder. A player found to be playing for more than 1 team on a given ladder will be considered Smurfing.

Upon joining a ladder, a player is not eligible to play in a match that was already "accepted" by the defending team before the day he joined.

No,its not your fault.I didnt say that. But it says all about the character if you drop a good relationship for a 2nd place in a simple ladder.

there were a lot of options to get it sorted but u are an admin...no exception at no point you were willing to solve it sportsmanlike....

Like i said...we had alot different trouble with different teams but after the match we still "could see the other in the eyes"...

They challenged our winstreak with 3 guys...we even let them bring a guy from a different clan to have a good fight and it was a match for the 1st...

Point is,you knew you wouldnt beat us at ranch("we trained the whole evening"lol) As a man after such a hard training i would be happy to show myskills. But you choosed the admin way for a cheap, worthless win, hooah.

I think you got it^^

Good sportsmanship goes a long way in making this a great place to compete. I often ask myself why people are going to other site's to compete on AA3. Things come up in real life that prevent us from having time to enjoy matches, despite really wanting to play. I know first hand from back in the day when you would put in the time to practice and the team doesn't even bother showing up. Just makes ya better, right? With that said, it's just a damn video game, meant for enjoyment. Running off newcomers with a Hitler attitude might be one reason it's dead here. Personally I would not enjoy playing against a team man down, but then again, I actually enjoy a challenge. Some people like handouts though...

Since you decided to murk up my thread, I shall donate my pennies. As TWL staff, I feel you should go above and beyond to create a great gaming environment to promote this website. From your posts, it's sound's like you have done the exact opposite. Numbers are down and it gets old playing the same teams every other week here. How about we strive to be good sports and welcome newcomers to TWL with guidance/kindness?

^^this
But...what goes around comes around,we had our revenge.

PSGN half final, they had no 4th player and they were so unashamed to ask for a reschedule, trololol.was even more funny to get the forfeit because its a money league and not just a simple ladder were you play for fun and to get some training.every other team would have get a 2nd chance from us but...

Sad that 2 good chances for a nice funny fight went down the drain because of a stubborn admin with the need to win.

maybe too much power is too hard to handle for some..

[kerupt^] thank you for sharing this point of view.
Hard to say can we reach the AA2 level because the game itself has been a main problem. And I think that only way to get more players online and new clans is to get better patches and more maps.

I remember an epic fight on Impact TAH against IceNine. I was the last up in the house at the middle of the map, I moved out on the back and I saw the last guy of i9 there, I was holding the saw and we got an epic fight from the stairs near the arches to the balcony of the red building. The gun fight last 3-4 seconds, I jammed, plunged on the ground, reload to un-jam, crouch up and got the last on my last burst.

I really cant comment on AA3 matches as I have played none . But I must say, my 8 years of competition play from AA2 has given me such memories that I probably will never forget. Though I have moved on from the AA series, I still think it as the "game". Too sad, atleast from my viewpoint AA3 never made it like AA2 did.

Good thread, hopefully we get more rl stories

ps. @ [kerupt^] it ended 7 - 3 in favor of ST-6

I remember this one team that was super arrogant and rude to us. Certain they were better and would beat us in the match. It was defending our first place as usual so it was important nonetheless, but this really wasn't a match we wanted to lose. This team wasn't a well liked team in the community so we had the entire TWL community behind us in hopes of knocking them down a peg. AO Stronghold. It was sooooooo long ago I barely remember the details but it was a shut out of monumental proportions. 8-0. Every member of the sykopz team had a last man clutch round win so there wasn't one member carrying the others. Everyone executed what we had practice. We played like a well oiled machine while our opponents didn't seem to have much strategy at all. With them relying solely on their self proclaimed superior scrim skills, it was an easy match to say the least.

With a sweep victory over a confident, loud-mouth, trash-talking team, the only way the victory could have been any sweeter is if the team had been one of a higher caliber skill set. When you look at it one way, it was just another dominant victory over a bad team. But everyone's memorable matches are special to the individual.

Like most of you guys I have been playing TWL for a great number of years. I can say that I have enjoyed the thrill of competition even though I have been handed quite a few losses by likes of ST6, DFL and Silencers over the years. Playing against you guys have made me try harder to develop those skills and tactics needed to compete. I have a lot of respect for good competition teams and strive to become as good as any. With that said I have many memories of great matches and just the pure feeling of exhilaration during a match is my favorite moment. You can not seem to get this feeling in pub play. This is why I love competition play so much and I really hope we build this community back to it's greatness in AA4.
