Hey guys, sorry to unleash the spam (and yes, I do realize I haven't posted here for years) but I thought i'd let everyone know that the Ground Branch Kickstarter went live this morning!!
Ground Branch is an in-development realistic tactical shooter aiming to be a mix of Rainbow Six, Ghost Recon and the UT mod Infiltration. At this stage it is only going to be released as a multiplayer game, though if people pledge more than the goal amount they may look at making an SP campaign.
For those not familiar with kickstarter, it's a novel idea where Indie projects can garner support from the interwebs community to fund it. Basically the project sets a goal amount to be raised, people pledge, but if the goal amount is not met, then everybody gets their money back.

It has a 10-minute teaser video outlining the ins and outs of the game so far. The vid is made up completely of pre-alpha material.
Similarly, the Ground Branch website is http://www.groundbranch.com which has extensive information of what the game is and isn't going to be like.
Pledging starts at just $1, but if you donate $15USD, you'll get a digital key when the game is released on Steam. The more you pledge, the more rewards you get.
I know this is not really in the mould of the fast run and gun games that are prominent in the competitive gaming market this site caters to, but it's worth a shot right? It's about time there was a realistic tactical FPS out there. I miss AA

Reminds me of americas army 1...in a good way, but looks like it can actually play host to competition.

It looks great. I wanted to contribute but the kickstarter site says "Funding Unsuccessful" Whats going on with this?

I looked at this some months ago and I believe it will be good for comp but I also have a feeling it wont have a huge player base. but time will tell
