Dear Teams,
Starting March 11th 2012 all Teamwarfare Ladder Matches for Battlefield 3 will be required to be played using UAC. Universal Anti-Cheat is a 3rd Party program that tracks hardware, software, and player screenshots. This is the sitewide program for Anti-Cheat.
You must create a UAC account on their website to get the required ID to be added to your TWL profile. The ID is listed in your account on the UAC website.
Create an account and UAC3 can be downloaded here: http://www.uac.ac
A how to guide can be found on TWL’s site here: http://teamwarfare.com/rules.asp?set=Universal+Anti-Cheat
Please contact an admin at AC@teamwarfare.com or guid@teamwarfare.com with questions.
Regards,

Last we checked the UAC3 still gives black screenshots for DirectX 11 games... especially BF3.
Has this been remedied?
Thanks! Post edited by JackBurton[x] at 2/28/2012 12:09:13 PM

Yes at the moment UAC3 doesn't support DX11. You can run in windowed mode to get SS. But, UAC provides us with a whole host of tools, screen shots being one of the lesser ones. SixShotSean

I understand now. I wasn't sure you guys monitored the processes and looked at everything else. I was just aware of TWL AC looking through SS's only.
Another thing to think about is having TWL AC possibly research known hack files to add to the already existing pbbans.com pbsvuser.cfg file that has a load of .dll files, known hack files, etc. Have people/admins add the line to the pbsv.cfg file to load this file and wallah... more protection.

Macros as in AHK? I hope so, I guess you can use AHK to set up a no recoil macro.

What about Leagues? I noticed that "Ladder Matches" was underlined, so does that mean it's just going to be on the ladders for now? A test run of sorts, because there is also the "mention" of the UAC on the 5v5 league post.

How I like to roll out major competition additions like this is to not start it mid-season of a league. The 5v5IO League will start with it day 1. The other 2 leagues will use it in Season 2.
Ladders are more flexible and new rules/program additions are much simpler. Post edited by SixShotSean at 2/29/2012 9:07:09 AM

Who are we so sure that UAC will not be hacked it's self, like pbbans was and that someone with access to all of our computer's ain't gonna take passwords and account# and so on? I went to their site and tried to find out exactuly what it is that ya'll wanted me to install on my computer and it is not to CLEAR to me what it is, but if they can go through one file on your computer then it seams to me like they can go through whatever files and folders they want. Is there some way to protect some files while letting others be visiable or how does it work?

It goes through your files and scans them. Once scan they copy everything your computer has almost like keylogger and they paste in a notepad document. Now, once that happens they have employees that go through all the files super fast to make sure you aren't hiding hacks.

I'd imagine since you have to tell it what game your playing, that it scans your game folder to make sure files arn't edited ect and then scans the memory.

Now is good time to point out that UAC is strict on client side changes. It's designed for Official Match Play.
No Client-Side modifications are permitted. This includes customs skins, scopes, avatars, huds or any other modifications, including 3rd party programs that interact directly with the stock GAME files or OpenGL/Direct3D. The game is to be played stock out of the box with the current patches.
Now is the time to rethink/remove any custom third party programs (that change the stock game files) you might have downloaded. Post edited by Blues78 at 3/3/2012 3:01:00 PM

Why is this necessary? The game already has Punkbuster included, and this is developed by a 3rd party with no financial liability should it mess up our machines or installs a root kit.

Because people bitch about hackers/macro's but its because of getting ass-raped.

This is required so we can police the game as best as possible. We have tested this with other games and with BF3 and found it gives our AC Staff an upper hand in catching cheaters. SixShotSean
