have you never played before... just scrimmed TWL rules and jesus... how boring.

I shouldn't have to explain why this is horrible... smh.


IF YOU HAVE UPGRADES YOU NEED STRIKES... I don't want to spend 8 years destroying a turret.. no flag movement because no clear, ffs.

do you guys have admins that are on competitive teams?

I was on one of the top teams (stack and hack) earlier if that means anything and I'm pretty good at this game d00d. That said, this was never a decision for a sole admin to make. At the time the rule set was being created, the majority of teams on TWL had wanted upgrades enabled for a variety of reasons. The problem is with killing level 4 assets. If there was a way to limit upgrades (ie: no one accidentally being able to upgrade to level 4) this wouldn't really be an issue. Using strikes in competion is a pretty bad idea and it's not as if there aren't any other counters to keeping an asset down. However, asset upgrades are a topic that is still being discussed and can be easily changed granted the majority is in favor of it. If people would rather want assets to be limited at a certain level and bear the burden of providing proof of teams breaking that rule then I'm down with that. If teams have decided they no longer want upgrades, that's fine too. Speak up d00ds.

you're wrong Knil. While 4 may be much it doesnt take that long to destroy turrets.

yes I am familiar with SnH, back then things were a little dif than now though , If I had to settle I'd settle for lvl 2.


Draynar - I'm talking about killing lvl 4 turrets, shit is stupid... especially with how long it takes to repair them, repair to half and they are back... all that stuff slows down the game and makes it tedious.. kill a turret and die because LD used the turret while killing you... next time you come back it's already back. Especially with raider being dust in the wind now.

Now if I look at things differently I can say, ok play Brute with 2,000 damage spinfusor to clear the turret from far away, then ski in and try to clear. The issue is with the repair time. Tech should have to repair all the way not half way.

Agreed, level 4 equipment takes an unreasonable effort to destroy. Last I checked, a raider can barely carry enough ammo to destroy a level 4 generator (and it takes like a full minute, which against a good team is not going to go undetected).

On the other hand, the repair time is pretty long relative to the level 0 health, and the lack of shields on turrets means they can be disc'd to death from long range.

In order of preference:
- Petition Hi-Rez for shielded turrets (lol)
- Base assets fixed at level 2 always (not currently possible)
- Base assets upgradeable only to level 2 (too much hassle to observe manually)
- Base assets not upgradeable

Mk. 2 max (or lower) w/o strikes. There's a reason for standard rule sets on spinfusor.org, gameshrine, etc...

Level 4 gens just have way too much HP, until you can limit the lvl upgraded via server settings. Upgrades should be disabled (which can be set server side).

I have tons of credits and accidentally hit upgrade one time too many... and make the turret mk.3.

WHat then ? My team loses a whole map just bc i accidentally hit the button one too many times?

If not, then there WILL be teams that abuse this leniency and "accidentally" ugrade their asets all the time.

TWL cant police this. It has to be on or off until a server option is instituted by Hi Rez.

Raise the cost of upgrades. As I see it now credits are pretty much useless in competition except for the one guy who gets to use the shrike. Make it 10,000 to upgrade a turret/generator and the problem should go away.

I'm going to generally agree with this line of thought. I feel as though level 4 are far too powerful, yet non-upgraded assets are a joke. In a perfect world, I would like to have Turrets and Generators capped at level 2 and the Sensor capped at level 4, with some sort of upgrade cost multiplier.

It's my feeling ( and seems a bunch of others ) that untill Ascend allows for control of level upgrades that it should be turned off.

Once they allow control of levels though, it's on and popping!!!

Level 2 is the most balanced. The Euro's have played with a level 2 cap on upgrades for the longest with no problems, we should be able to do the same.
