is the 10 man ladder ever going to open? I know that most the teams don't have their shit together, but i imagine once it officially opens for challenges that it might? Can we plz get some community support for this from elite comp players? Stop being dousch's and just rally behind a game u've socked multi hundreds of hours into... What would ur mom think u wasting all that time on nothing if this thing (competitive play) comes crashing down completely in a few months?! a.k.a. Vanadium

Sample daily schedule of "elite" player:
- Complain about how unbalanced the game is
- Play 16 hours worth of T:A... complaining how frustrated elite player is
- Find nifty ways to prove how esports elite player is
- Eat some hotpockets
- Feed cat
- Watch T:A videos and complain about how unbalanced the game is
- Vow to shower the next day
- Pass out
With this kind of schedule, who has time to support that ladder?

10v10 will never happen until 7v7 happens and the 10 teams that are official dont even have a 10 man roster to join the ladder....

bump.
For real open the ladder and let happen what happens. My team is #1 on the ladder and were gonna get everyone signed up at least 10 within the next week. 10 man meta will be interesting once it gets going.

My Understanding is this. Every 10 man team is also a 7 man team. 7 man is floundering in and of itself. 10 man doesnt have an agreed upon ruleset at all, and only 3 or 4 teams have even scrimmed it and proposed rulesets, but those rulesets are DRASTICALLY different than the base game since they involve Naked spawn (which was incredibly fun BTW). SO its the ruleset really holding it up, and a lack of teams to test it and get together to discuss parameters. Personally id show up for 10v 10 once it gets going, but i find 7s to be incredibly boring and actually think its a terrible fit for tribes other than "EPSORTS NEEDS SMALL TEAMS" excuse for going 7v7 in the 1st place.
So get the discussion on ruleset going again, test it, and lock osmething down, and the ladder can move forward.

I think we should just start up now using the current 7 man rule set and adjust on the fly. Sure, it's not ideal, but we could drag on for months trying to hash out a perfect set of rules... and dragging on for months with no play is a sure way of killing the ladder.

I agree just use the current 7 vs 7 ruleset.

If it were to start today it would more likely follow the tested 10v10 format which involved major changes a la spawning naked. 10v10 spawn in full gear plays like ass, which is 1 of the reasons why the current 7 v 7 format is a good fit for spawning with gear. I like the gung ho, "lets start it up and make changes on the fly" mentality, just think it should be applied with the fairly decent working naked format thats been tested by the teams that actually have 10 ppl interesting in competing in this format.
The sooner it gets going the better. It will be better with extra server flags from hirez, but we cant hold our breath. That said there are workarounds for those server flags, and imo (and a few others) 10v10 naked is much more fun & interesting than 7v7 current ruleset.

We should spawn in soldier when gens down, full spawn otherwise. Naked spawn creates high imbalance; heavies indoors are too strong for t:a nakeds. And the capping is too fast (and too easy) to recover from a gens down spawn defense situation.
Soldiers are strong enough to clear the base and D the flag somewhat, but would limit that teams offensive productivity.
Having spawn be gen related makes the gen game matter more, opening up the field of play and adding more tactical and metagame variety.

If we're going to spawn naked, then this ^. As a last resort, again, I know it's not ideal, but teams that want to spawn naked can agree to those server flags in the match comms. Anything that gets the ball rolling is better than nothing.
Having said that, I haven't played naked so I don't know what I'd prefer, but it'll be interesting to find out.

I don't think it would be that bad under the current 7 vs 7 format....we already have something close to how it would play called pubs....I've also played plenty of PUGs with more than 7 that utilized 7 vs 7 format. All you are really introducing is the ability to get some full time techs in the game and more interesting combinations of offense versus defense. Personally I'm not trying to reinvent the game...just play it...whatever rules we decide on.
I think the reason the poster above me suggested 7 vs 7 format is just to keep it simple...I agree....I also think you'll attract more interest keeping the game as close to base as possible. However it goes though I have 10 prepared to play whatever ruleset.
