I saw the trialer premier during the basketball playoffs.

Looks cool if you like the whole futuristic setting. It shows us nothing about MP game play. But SP looks cool...

Hopefully they will release a MP trailer soon so we have an idea.

no tbh it looks like shit. they caved to all the cod fan boys that wanted a futuristic cod. Its like a crysis remake except with the cod engine.

But, with all the future shit they still bring back guns like the python... makes no damn sense. Yet, lets added some unbelievably stupid ass perks. This game ladies is being marketed to the casual pubbers and kids that shouldn't even own the damn game because of ESRB ratings.

The game should continue where its story line left off. I'm sure there's tons of shit they could use from vietnam era to present before jumping into 2030. Bf 2142 did this, but i feel they made a better game, somewhat, then i think this will be. 2142 was great, just didnt like vista and well imo was before its time. This will fail imo because

-It will most likely be the last cod game from treyarch- so no fucks given on a good exit as they fucked that up along time ago. Support? Mods? keep dreaming.
-Be just like mw3 in the fact that all of it will be made for the console and then ported to the pc. Then prepare for perk abuse like Mw3's akimbo FNG's. We will also wait months for patches that come with no patch notes and pay 15 bucks for DLC.

Don't get your hopes up. I probably will not buy this. Sad, as i anticipated another couple of seasons where i shat on kids like Tevlin. *sigh

I would of liked to seen something come out that was like CoD:WAW (World at War). It didn't really get the recognition it should of gotten. I never got the feeling from that game that made me feel like it was ported, or that you were running around in 2 feet of shit. but with so damn many Cod's coming out, none really get the support they should. and like pimp said, you gotta wait forever for an update, and then them silly ass consoles get everything first. guess that what we get when you have developers who are to stupid, or lazy to code for a PC only version, and have hit-boxes that make sense.

I think any real cod players would like to see a return back to the use of bolts and skilled rifles like W@W which i very much enjoyed though never had a team to play comp with. The game came out too fast and was rushed off the scene because MW2 was coming out.

Personally I believe W@W and BO should have been expansion packs for the cod4. As far as IW's crap, that should have never been created period.

Has anyone even heard if they are using dedis yet? Or is that just a assumed yes because of black ops 1?

Dedi's is assumed because of BO1 for sure.

It's a shame the community didn't give WaW more of a chance. I've maintained for a long time that IT, is the best CoD followed closely by CoD4.

We competed for quite a while in WaW, it didn't die off as quickly as most think.

Apparently, they've updated the engine and will be utilizing DX11.

and dx11 runs like shit. This game will only run on systems that are built to handle it. Even then it will or sounds like it will be poorly optimized unless there is a beta.

WaW was indeed great and better than cod4 imo because of rifle only, nothing is better than rifle only comp.

BO2; well if it feels like BO and has dedicated servers it will be alright, graphics I couldn't care less about. WaW and BO both feel so much better to play then MW2/3; those games feel so cheap.

This interview looks promising.....

One of my teammates dug this up.

I spent a day with Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 last week. After Treyarch's presentation, I borrowed a breaching charge from the studio's kitchen (the place is lousy with C4) to blast open the office door of its studio head, Mark Lamia. Entering in slow-mo with Inquiry Guns akimbo, I complimented Mark on the presidential red rotary telephone on his desk. Through a fog of drywall dust and poisonous florescent lightblub particulate, my interrogation began.

PCG: Will Black Ops 2 have dedicated servers on PC?

Mark Lamia, Studio Head, Treyarch: We had it with Black Ops, so the architecture exists. But we haven't yet announced exactly what that setup is going to be with Black Ops 2. The goal, for us, really, is to... We like the flexibility, just philosophically, of the dedicated server. We also like our game to be played the way we spent the last couple of years making it, and try to find that happy medium between the two. There's a meta-game that we've created here in terms of allowing people to rank up with the experience points and everything. Trying to make sure that people can enjoy that meta-game is important to us too. That's where we try to strike that balance on Black Ops as much as possible.

Is it an issue related to anti-cheat? I think that was something a lot of people—

ML: Absolutely it is. It's absolutely related. It's one of the considerations. Once you let those server files out, there's a problem. That was actually one of the primary reasons why you could rent a server... I can tell you that that wasn't a business decision on our part. That's not our business. But it's an important security consideration.

One of the things I know that the team has been focused on for the PC is, in particular, anti-cheat mechanisms. We know it's a huge issue in PC gaming, for online gaming. We've been working on proprietary schemes, we're not just relying on the commercial schemes that... They do a good job and clearly that's their job, to do that stuff. But we have a lot of experience, especially after Black Ops, seeing what people were doing to the game, and we want to make sure... Look—you want to do that stuff in a custom, private game, that's your business, but if you're playing out there in the world, in the community, we are going to try to make it fun for as many people as possible. So we have some proprietary schemes the team has been working on. I think that will be unique to this title, since it's not off-the-shelf software. We're working on that.

Don't you think Black Ops 2 would benefit from a beta?

ML: The problem with a beta, in particular on our time frame, it's just not practical. We're coming out this year, we're not taking four years to make this game or three years to make this game. You could actually take a lot of time on a beta. Most consumers don't have a technical problem. We have done betas in the past. Sometimes you get the information you need and actually sometimes you don't. It just depends. But there's nothing like having the reach of a game like Call of Duty to eventually get to every single place.

What about Call of Duty Elite? It’s still strange to me that your web-based platform doesn’t function with the PC version of Modern Warfare 3.

ML: Great question. It's one that Activision has to answer for us. Right now it's not a technical limitation on our engines. But there is... We haven't announced exactly what we're doing with Elite for the next game. It's more of an Elite question that's going to be answered for people later. But our game does a real good job... Did you play Black Ops?

Yeah.

ML: So there's a ton of stats that we have already built into our engine. Our engine's really well-integrated with all that stuff. We're already doing quite a bit of that. It's going to be really... It takes advantage of Elite pretty nicely.

Will Black Ops 2 have LAN play? That doesn't seem like a troublesome thing to implement.

ML: Yeah, so we'll talk about, like, what network architectures and stuff we're going to give you a little bit later. But I think it's fair to say that we're paying attention to the eSports scene, and the kinds of issues that you're talking about... Forget the specific hardware, but the kinds of issues that you're talking about are ones that we are paying attention to and are important to us.

How would you expect to support eSports on PC without dedicated servers?

ML: Um... Well, I haven't told you whether we are or we aren't having them, so... You mean if there were no dedicated servers? Well, we were able to do that with... I'm not saying that's what's going to happen, but we were able to do that with... We had Black Ops on the PS3 on the MLG, that was a Pro Circuit. What you're able to do is create... In your custom game configuration, you allow people to create the customizations that they need. You don't need a dedicated server to give people the variables they need to create a custom game.

Thanks for your time, Mark.

Looks promising? ARE YOU FUCKING ILLITERATE?

The way i read this and then comprehend is the way i treat many people that are in a position of considerable power.
Its all bullshit, unless there is DIRECT and for certain yes or no answers.

The architecture is still there part is speaking in the past tense as if this isn't a serious consideration. This response is a lazy way of saying "well we can, but.." and its alittle late in the year to be undecided about this so it will come down to what IW did im sure. Also, they haven't announced their plan because they are trying to do the same bullshit as IW and keep that news under raps until all of us fuckers pre order (give them our money) and then find out dedi's are unranked. WHich btw i believe this is what this mother fucker is saying by "trying to accommodate both sides". There are no fucking sides, just pc and console. We do not play with each other or against each other so give us want we want and give the console people their shit.

Anticheat is going to not by software as VAC will be the AC of choice. The only AC they will implement is on the config and server files instead of going through all the commands themselves they will black listed everything with some type of hash file, encryption, or check-sum. Nothing regarding the rapid, and extensive use of texture file alterations or the simple aimbot/walls will mostly not be addressed unless their is direct collaboration with VAC or the release of VAC 2.0 or 3.0 whatever the hell that pos ac is supposed to be released.

This shit is maddening and will not buy into it like i did in MW3 to then find out last minute ded's are unranked to prevent cheating as if that is the biggest cheat threat. Fuck this. Prove me wrong, please.

Pimp chill out, or you will earn yourself another forum ban, this time it wont be short either.

I agree with you, hence I said this looks promising... (sarcasm) obviously I dont think it actually is promising.

It is upsetting, they dont care about the PC community they just want to make thier money..

I love how I'm brought up in this. Pimp I've never played you in a match kid, and when the time comes (if ever) I will beat you because you're still old news brah. You are a different kind of Troll for sure...pfff

But I'm not looking forward to this game at all. There might be a glimpse of hope for another good year of MP but after this game say goodbye to PC gaming (at least for CoD). Never been a fan of futuristic anything, its all too corny.

Sorry streetz i didn't feel/see any sarcasm in your reply. Maybe a following sentence or an asterisk would have helped. I jumped the gun as i thought you were with the rest of those that settle for less.

All doesn't matter though really. I will not buy the game until i hear from my pals if its actually worth wasting the money.

Keep this thread updated with info for us all please just in case..

Telvin, my bad. I brought up the past as i just couldn't wait to see your reaction. I'm going to hell, but im having fun before i get there.

ps. we will prolly never play a match against eachother, though you will not beat me. aG had way better players than you and they got shat on as if i was playing with my feet it was that easy. You're old news brah.

would if i could but my disc doesn't install a couple files for some odd reason and causes tons of errors. From what i was told the amount of servers left are the crouch only ones and those... those i just cant stand.
