Terrible quiz. I got a 100% simply by interpreting the questions to reflect what peoples fears are and how the law would address those fears.
For you to get 1 wrong, you must be retarded.
Just saying'. It's a pretty lame quiz.

Here is something for you all to check out instead of some worthless cheer-leading for Obamacare:
The REAL Healthcare quiz
Then quote your results as follows:
Originally posted by: Sample 30K
Starting in 2014:
You will have the option of buying a health plan through your state's exchange with federal assistance. Based on your income, your annual premiums for that plan would be no more than $2,415 to $2,850. Your maximum out-of-pocket costs for deductibles and co-payments would be capped at 30 percent of the total cost.
Let's see how much this new tax will destroy your limited disposable income... for maybe 10% of the American population.
BTW, Mack.. aren't you a medical device seller? Sucks to be you.
@ 97th percentile. Only time you will ever be there; you're a bottom feeder.

That's the point of the quiz dumbass, to show that all the fear mongering is just propaganda and that none of it is in the actual bill. Good job, you almost figured something out for once.

Pay for it... It's all fine and nice until you find out how much it will cost. Sure, we can borrow more, cut quality of care to accommodate quantity of care...
Sounds great on paper.

It will be paid for, by tax increases. Haven't you been paying attention? God bless America.

I got 11 out of 10 without even going to the website and you used to be in health care. Talk about retarded.

This subject highlights the population's willingness to accept rhetoric at face value. That goes for both sides- and holds a special place for you QM. The fact is, on a daily basis insurance companies and government alike keep physicians waist deep in bullshit to have to wade through.

I'd rather pay the $400.00 fine than give thousands of dollars to an insurance company. Post edited by Buzzed at 7/2/2012 10:14:45 PM

I think it is unsustainable given the current economic times we are in.
More taxes, more debt, more spending when the country is already in pretty uncomfortable economic times. They really aren't addressing the high cost of health care.
Health care is very expensive, but they are going after the messengers. Ask any healthcare provider. Look at how many GOOD family practice doctors accept Medicaid or Medicare. Ask them why they don't participate.
It's a multifaceted issue. We really should go after the big Pharma... Today, GlaxoSmithKline settled a lawsuit with the Fed over the improper marketing of Paxil to kids when it was clearly only indicated for adults.
$3 billion dollars.
What company can settle a lawsuit for $3billion and stay solvent? Crazy shit... but they are making money hand over fist... On top of that, there's no incentive (aside from giant profits for patented items) to really research groundbreaking therapies... all the NDA's coming from Pharma is all "me too!" drugs.
On the physician side, liability is killing them. The cost to protect themselves from torts far outweighs their earning capacity from what Federal and State programs will reimburse them for. So for care, it comes down to quantity over quality. Find a GOOD physician, and they are mostly in the "Cadillac" insurance networks... because the reimbursement is greater.
I'm not a fan of Obamacare.
For me, it may actually mean more quantity of sales... which is good for me. More people who could use my services as a provider with lower out-of-pocket expenses means more providing... That's logical.
Is it good for the country?
I'm thinking no. I look at the problems the EU is having with countries with large entitlement programs, and I keep thinking we're on the same path.
Not a fan.
/soapbox
On a side note. I'm glad I sold the pharmacy.
Pharmacies are panicking over the proposed Obamacare price rates on generics... 80% of the generics being reimbursed below net cost.
At least with equipment, I can order super cheap shit from China that will fit a patients needs and cost below the HCPCS capitated rate. Drugs, you're at the mercy of Pharma.
They make their profits off the backs of the providers.
Sucks.

Although that quiz is blantant apologist twist to it, its still so disturbing to read it.
"blah blah blah... absolutely doesn't require you to do it...
blah blah blah... just fines your ass if you don't."
anyone with a shred of critical thinking skills can see how contradictory that statement is.
The one about medicare is a good one. "we're going to defund them, but decree they provide the same service". Right... Post edited by Stryk at 7/2/2012 10:26:03 PM

A lot of the Medicare cuts are to payments to physicians. They cut reimbursement rates to "save" money. It's why doctors groups weren't big fans of PPACA.

Sucks. That's the thing. it did absolutely nothing about costs.
If anything they brought Pharma onboard with bonuses like longer period for proprietary drugs. like 7 from 5. And where in this did they even go near the ambulance chasers who drive defensive medicine?

Yes doctors are just going to start dumping patients and drop medicare.
