Hmmm, this guy was an idol to so many College football fans.
I dont want to pounce and trash the guy but from what I have read and seen, he and the rest of the higher-ups at PSU let this shit go on cuz they were afraid of the publicity.
WHAT ABOUT NOW?
If it is true, they need to just shut this college down and have some F-18's with some bunker busters swoop in and just level the place and start over. Scratch the name Paterno from the history books and move on.
I really am torn cuz the guy was a CFB legend.

Hmmmmm just like i said all along. Fuck him and every single other person in that report. All should burn in hell for continuing to let Sandusky do what he did.
I'm not sure what the NCAA will do but everythign I have read it sounds like they could get hit with LOI or the DOE could go at the school and strip away their accreditation(that wont happen). Regardless, something needs to happen to the school or the program itself.

I really am sick of hearing about this on ESPN or anything else for that matter 24/7.
Did this really have to be brought back up? Why did this have to be released?
The only people that are getting hurt over this is the people that were abused.
So why? Why release this info? Just to give Paterno or the school a bad name? They already do as it is.
This is doing no good & is only keeping it in the eyes of the victims instead of letting it go & trying to move on with their lives.
ESPN needs to simply stfu.

Penn state commissioned this report months ago and the former FBI agent just got done with it. This wasnt ESPN just sending a guy out to do some investigation. The victims are far from moving on yet since the purjury trials havent even started yet.
You release this information so people know wtf was going on there. If one of your children had been involved you wouldnt want the world to know there was a giant conspiracy behind it?
I'm not sure you understand how big this report is and what it actually says. ESPN is focusing on the Joe Pa angle but it goes much deeper than that, you had a school wide conspiracy coverup. This is one of the biggest University stories in the past decade if not more. Bad thing could happen to the university due to them trying to protect Sandusky. I'm not saying ESPN sent some reporter out. So i don't know where you're going with that.
Purjury trials? I'm not sure the victims will have anything to do with those but ok.
If there's more trials to take place, then that's even more of a reason for information on the case to not be released to the public.
I fully understand how big this report is. & it is not a "school wide conspiracy coverup" as you stated, it's like 5 individuals. Maybe i'm wrong, but you're making it sound like every professor & anyone affiliated with the school aided in the coverup.
As far as ESPN, i just think they are being disrespectful towards the whole situation. Who gives a fuck on if they should take Paternos statue down or not?
I mean really? Is that news worthy of 24/7 debates on the entire network including both tv & radio?
As far as wanting the whole world to know there was a conspiracy behind it? Didn't you already know that? It's not like that's been held as a sceret all this time.
The release of this doesn't change my mind of who tried to cover any of this up. & it shouldn't anyone elses either.
If it does, then they were blind & ignorant from the first trial. Post edited by Stoneymontana at 7/13/2012 1:10:31 PM

When you have a head coach, athletic director, and the university president covering it all up I'm pretty sure thats qualified as school wide conspiracy.
The victims have plenty to do with the perjury, the perjury is over the higher ups lying they knew anything about whats was going on. The reports werent intended to change anyone mind, they were intended to let everyone know how deep it truly went. They all knew since 1998, thats fucked up.
And yeah its worthy of 24/7 debates on ESPN. You have what was once considered the greatest coach of all time involved in the biggest University scandal in a long. We had debates over guys at OSU getting discounted tattoos for weeks on ESPN. This is exponentially bigger than that, and could/should lead to much harsher punishments for the program and school.

Stones, how about all the Dwight Howard talk?
Not picking on you but Im surprised no one on here has bashed Superman. I live close to Orlando now and this asshole has kept this city hostage for almost a year now with his waffling and his facade like he is some kind of good guy while he tries to get Van Gundy fired behind his back and every other day is asking to be traded. So most want to bash LB for what he did. At least he did not waffle back and forth and keep a city hostage. He made his choice and yes it was a specticle and a big mistake. But what Howard has done goes beyond what LB ever did yet I dont see people bashing him.
The Jo Pa talk just started back up. This DHoward talk has been going on since the BB FA started.

I don't believe the victims in this would be at any perjury trials unless they choose to.
A couple of officials that outside of Paterno most people likely wouldn't even know their names.
& does this change how great of a "football coach" he was?
Absolutely not. Does it change the way people view him? Sure, some. But certainly not all.
& like i've said since day fucking one that any of this news broke, the ivestigators & local police are just as much to blame in this as anyone else is. They dropped the ball BIGTIME for many years.

Actaully i was going to make a thread about it, just haven't had the time. But now that you mention it, i think it's total BS what he's doing. One, he got a great coach fired that should not have been fired. But you have to place a lot of blame on the Magic for this also. They allowed an employee to essentially fire their head coach.
Where the fuck else in this world do the employees dictate how things are run. Then knowingly he was just going to leave the team anyways. & the Magic certainly had to know that he was going to ask to be traded at the end of the season.
Next, the Magic were ignorant what the Brooklyn Nets offered them the other day. Stupid! They won't get anyone to give up what the nets were willing to give up. Especially since Howard has made it clear that if he's traded to any other team besides the nets that he will not sign a contract extension. He will sign a contract extension with the Nets only!
Dumb move on the Magics part. Anybody think another team is going to give up 4 first round draft picks plus plus plus for a guy that won't sign a contract with you & will just leave your team at the end of the season & sign with the Nets as a free agent?
I used to be a fan of Howards, not any longer. The NBA needs to crack down on this shit, the players should NOT be dictating where they go & asking for trades. & getting coaches fire, although that was the Magics dumbass's fault.
Do they think they are going to find a better coach then Van Gundy? Hell no they won't.
Fuck, i wish the Pistons would fire their coach & hire Van Gundy. At least the people of Detroit acknowledge & respect a hard working man. & they don't come much more hard working then Van Gundy. Post edited by Stoneymontana at 7/13/2012 1:41:40 PM

I don't condone him or anyone with child molestation. Where have i ever said anything of the sort?
Once again, you creating scenarios in your own head.
The man is dead, who gives a fuck? Punish the people that are still alive, punish the local police & investigators, punish the grand jury.
They had nearly just as much cover up in this as others did.
Move the fuck on & allow for the victims to start healing. Stop beating the dead horse & move on. Try to repair the school, allow for the victims to get on with their lives.
Where does any perjury trial get anyways? Have you not learned from those trials with Bonds or Clemens? they walked free & everyone still views them as guilty, so what's the point? Publicity?

I walked into what? I'm sorry, but it doesn't change my mind on how good of a football coach he was. Does it effect how he's viewed as a human? Sure it does. Sorry if some people can't separate the two. I can.
Did it change the mind of how good of a football coach Woddy Hayes was for what he had done?
Does it change how good of a coach Bobby Knight was with all the shit he has pulled over the years?

I agree. This was not a school wide conspiracy coverup as Fuzznuts stated.
It's a couple of individuals. Prosecute them. Paterno is dead & gone, there's no need to keep going down that path.
They also need to punish the local law enforcement that was involved in this. Why is nobody crying foul about them?

PSU is PSU because of it's football team, not because of it's Volleyball team. Sandusky has been part of PSU for a long long time. Who knows how long he has been assraping poor negro boys and other underage kids.
Give them the death penalty and they should also revolk every college grad's diploma during that time. Thats a great start to easing the pain for all of these kids who have been cornholed by Sandusky

Penn State is more than a successful football program. It's a quality university that graduates thousands of talented people each year; people who often have good values and ethics. The University's leadership is to blame for their own lack of ethics and moral courage.
