Obama is talking about how their should be more gun control.......even though he has signed legislation that did the opposite.

Really? Where is he signing legislation about not needing gun contro?. Last i saw he was the biggest supporter in this whole arms treaty signing with the UN

http://www.teamwarfare.com/forums/showthread.asp?forumid=9&perpage=20&threadid=482325&page=1

Examples in this thread.......

With that said, he is still no gun ally.

Nor is he an advocate of American sovereignty.

He appears more than happy to let foreigners not just control our government, but also dictate/interpret our Constitution to us.
You mean the examples that where all but two were state level actions and one of those two left is something passed by the republicans in the house and stalled by the democrats in the senate? Leaving one sign off of gun use in national parks, which has negligible impact on anyone but the few handfuls of people who live in those parks.

Yep........the one where he signed laws that allowed guns to enter "more" Federally managed/controlled places. The ones where he allowed "more" concealed weapon owners to keep their guns on them.

Those are the opposite of the direction he said he would go........they are the opposite of what we expected.

It's not like he is a champion for gun rights, or ownership, as much as he has left them the fuck alone. If only Romney could have learned to do the same when he was Gov. of MA.

But, heh, it's an election year.

Only in an election year can a guy who didn't pass any anti-gun legislation get a lower rating on guns than a guy who passed a permanent AWB, supports an advanced Brady Bill, and quadrupled gun licensing costs be considered the better of the two on the 2nd Amendment.

Where is someone paying money for a gun license?

& why is it that people always rip into a candidate for "waffling" changing their views or wtf ever?
Everybody changes their views on certain things throughout their life.
For example, how many college kids do you know that are conservatives? Not many i'm sure. As people grow older & or simply grow up, they change their views. People will change their views at 50, 60 years old or what ever.

Obama comes from the only state in the country that has any form of a complete no guns allowed law.

MA....... among many other states.

2003: As governor, Romney upsets gun owners by signing a law that quadruples the state's gun-licensing fee - from $25 to $100 - as part of a widespread effort to eliminate the budget deficit.

Some people change their views not just over their lifetime, but every single time they run for a new office position.

Sure we are all capable of change........just not as rapidly as certain politicians desperately pandering toward a new base in order to obtain the ability to win important elections.

I've changed my own view tremendously, as an impressionable youth, on many issues......especially the Iraq/Afghanistan War since 2003.

That's a long stretch, however, from Mitt Romney pulling a complete 180 in less than three short years on gun control.

2008: In a Republican primary debate, Romney says he would have signed the federal assault weapons ban if it came to his desk as president, but he opposes any new gun legislation.

To......

2012: Romney tells gun owners that Obama wants to erode their rights. "We need a president who will enforce current laws, not create new ones that only serve to burden lawful gun owners," Romney told the National Rifle Association's annual convention. "President Obama has not. I will."

Either he saw the light........or he saw a right wing base he needed to pander towards.

And Romney created one of the only states with a permanent Assault Weapons Ban.........and he personally made that happen (with his own signature).

It's one thing to evolve your opinion over time.......

It's another to say whatever you want, whenever you want, without conviction, because it's popular to the crowd that you are talking to.

It's what politicians do best. They tell us what we want to hear, but do whatever the fuck they want when they finally get elected.

Often with zero accountability.......or citizen oversight (because they know we, as a consensus, don't really give a shit).

Until we learn to vote in candidates who have a history of doing what they say.......not just saying whatever sounds good.......nothing will ultimately change in our political system today.

Someone changing their views in 3 or 4 years i don't find odd. It happens to everyone.
& honestly, if charging more for a gun permit helps to afford other things then i'm not opposed to it.
Weapons ban & "assault" weapons ban are entirely different.
Do you know what is considered an assault weapon?

On July 1, 2004, Romney signed a permanent state ban on assault weapons, saying at the signing ceremony for the new law, "Deadly assault weapons have no place in Massachusetts. These guns are not made for recreation or self-defense. They are instruments of destruction with the sole purpose of hunting down and killing people."[93]

The law extended a temporary measure that had been in effect since 1998 and covered weapons such as the AK-47, Uzi, and MAC-10.[93] The same law also modified some other aspects of general firearms licensing regulations.[93]

Here are the exact rules to the law, as it pertains to residents of MA.

Wow........is all I have to say.

Talk about some vague bullshit.

wouldn't your new gun also be on the list?......

(ii) a pistol grip that protrudes conspicuously beneath the action of the weapon ;

No, my gun doesn't have a grip like mentioned. It only has the standard pistol grip

Apparently some versions of your gun are still on their "ban" list.......perhaps for another reason.

http://thefiringline.com/forums/showthread.php?t=72192

Looking through this thread, especially at posts #3 and #4 what an asinine law.

No wonder some 700+ guns all got lumped together and tossed onto their shit you can't buy list.

What a fucked state, what a fucked bunch of politicians who passed such an abomination.

The more I read about the AWB the more it just pisses me off.

It has more to do with gun related peripherals than guns........it has more to do with limiting accessories than firepower.

It's even beyond the Brady Bill in regards to intentionally undermining our 2nd Amendment Rights.

Found this one to be humorously ironic......

On February 25, 2009, the newly sworn-in Attorney General, Eric Holder, repeated the Obama Administration's desire to reinstate the Federal Assault Weapons Ban.[15] The mention came in response to a question, about 20 minutes into a joint press conference with DEA Acting Administrator Michele Leonhart, discussing efforts to crack down on Mexican drug cartels. Attorney General Holder said: "[...] there are just a few gun-related changes that we would like to make, and among them would be to reinstitute the ban on the sale of assault weapons."[16]

If you really want to crack down on Mexican drug cartels.......stop illegally providing them government sponsored weaponry Cpt. Fast and Furious.

What a fucking asshole.......

A list of "approved" guns are on their site. I see no reference to your specific gun on there (I also didn't look that hard).

Failing to protect the border is big business (votes + cheap labor), pretending to protect the border is big business (surveillance contracts + private prisons), and doing just enough to keep American citizens inside their own borders (like a glorified roach hotel) is very good for business as usual.

Somehow, everyone is benefiting from our current immigration system except for the US taxpayer and American citizens.

Go figure........

So Romney who had little support in either state house(the lowest number of republicans in any state)shouldn't listen to what the people of his state wanted? Kinda contradicts you. It's ok. I don't expect a dumb kid like you to understand how a governors job works.

Romney should have just imposed his will on the voters!!!!!
