I'm sure that very strained police forces [that report for duty instead of trying to save their own] will execute everything in an orderly and safe fashion just like they do in movies. The military wont secure their bases before they roll out, but what do I know?

by 5pm i was at the grocery store. already the shelves were cleared of most of the gallon and up sizes. lots of 24 and 35 packs of the smaller sizes left but still. goes to show how fast it can go. however this is a middle class area and we have probably about 5 large supermarkets in our town, i went to one of the smaller ones. i am also unsure of stock in the back as well.
but even for such a small little event, shit goes fast.

I have several years of canned goods stored up, and several months of bottles water. That being said, where I live water is a non issue. Like, totally non issue. I am surrounded by more fresh water in my region than most continents.

Well, while you bitches are trying to get out of the city...my ass will be sailing to safer waters. My brats can fish so we will have food to eat. My boat is mostly self sufficient. The real bonus for me is I know how to fix damn near everything on it and carry parts. More so if I find my father in law because his boat is a floating supply and repair house.

Remember the G4 guy who died of hypothermia when he and his family got lost off of a logging road during the winter?
Part of the thing that gets young men killed first is that they are the first ones, especially when it is their family, to make major sacrifices to save their family (plus other woman and children).
Sometimes they even needlessly put themselves into harms way in hopes that their family, or those they are trying to protect, do not have to.
