There are few (none?) states in this union of ours that are truly worthy of being proud, especially in regards to government.

I'd like to thank all the Ron Paul supporters here for opening my eyes.

Ron will come back bigger and better next time because we are about to do 4 more years of the same shit. It may take 20 years to wake this country up, but it will happen eventually.

I don't think Ron Paul will run in 2016. He'll be 80 and even if he won this year's election he may not even want to serve a 2nd term.

Ron Paul has opened many people's eyes and has changed politics for me completely.

Today I am pretty much convinced that the US is either going to collapse or come close to it in some fashion via economic trouble.

Our politicians aren't on our side and they aren't facing reality.

The bankers have won for now, until it all comes crashing down. (The crash is probably by design too so, whatever)

Coc, Matt is correct, he will be deemed too old. Might not even be alive.

I am still writing his name in. I will be voting for him anyways.

How does Ron Paul plan on cutting Social Security spending?

He has run out of places to go, shit to say..........ears and minds that can possibly be changed.

http://www.ronpaul2012.com/category/events/month

His schedule is clearing up as one of the last primary elections, I believe, will be on June 5th in California.

As Dr. Paul always says, “An idea whose time has come cannot be stopped by any army or any government.”

His run was about something bigger than himself and was about far more than just him. It is a new way to look at our government, our geopolitical strategy, our debt/currency, to how we want to interact with one another (through conscience choice, or coercion).

I highly respect the man for all he did and all he continues to do to get out that message. A message he has lived and given his life to. There is a reason this message is so strong, resonates so loudly, that there is no choice but for it to carry on.......long after he is gone.

Gradually over time........

first by allowing young people an option to opt out.

second by slowly cutting back entitlements over decades.

He said he can not kill the program outright.......too many people have paid money they are "owed" back and then some. He even said that some deficit spending will have to be allowed, under any proposal, until this monster can be brought back under control again.

But it needs to be slowly killed off over time.

I disagree. Set a hard age, give everyone over it what they have coming. Everybody else - sorry about your luck, at least you don't have to pay into it anymore.

Not much different from what austerity measures are doing now.

They keep moving the qualification age to the point where you will have to be 125 to qualify for it in a few more years.

It's dead either way........just how fast we want to rip the patches off.

So basically over his first term, he'd pretty much do nothing. And the slow rate or expense reduction would get consumed by Washington's appetite in other areas easily. Anything short of a harsh slash of overspending accomplishes nothing that anyone else couldn't do.
