I just learned that the healthcare act has a clause that allows any state that can provide the same level of coverage at a lower cost to opt out of the federal program. Apparently there's already talk in Vermont of a state wide single payer plan. This is great! Within ten years we'll have equal marriage rights, legalized pot, and true universal healthcare in most, if not all, of the country. Welcome to the socialist paradise!

How is legalized pot a form of socialism? We have legalized tobacco which is known to cause cancer, we have legalized alcohol which has a significantly higher rate of addiction and is a greater cost, we have legalized opium / speed / cocaine / uppers / downers and we even give narcotics to kids if you can get any doctor to say they have ADD.
State funded health care is a form of socialism. Once that is socialized then gays being married really get no additional benefits.
Legalizing marijuana would create an industry. That industry , like any other, would focus on making money just like a free market system should work under capitalism. It would join the ranks of tobacco, alcohol, prescription medication, except it would be the least harmful of the group.
So we have a free market selling products to people based on their individual desire to part with cash to obtain said product. That is not socialism
