Any particular reason why the FB page was created as a Community page instead of a Group? It doesn't show up on my sidebar as a result.

Yano, that ^^^ is actually not a bad idea. Write a FB application that performs the ladder functionality / tournaments and you're done. Post edited by Questor at 9/7/2012 10:46:20 AM

The man is on to something. If ladders could send out Tweets / Facebook updates with match requests, match dates, match results there are a lot of people who would be interested.

Cause nothing tells the ladies "I have a cock that will make you scream" quite like getting a tweet that your video game match is on for friday night!

No no. There are FB apps that plug into your profile. For example, I have a CD Baby application that plugs into the profile for my music page that allows people to preview the songs for sale and purchase them directly on FB.
TWL could do the same thing: write an app that plugs into the FB architecture on the site itself such that ladders are supported. The only tricky part would be game-specific fora and match comms. Other than that, FB already provides a lot of the functionality that's on the TWL site.

I like to keep my nerdy online persona separate from my nerdy real life persona.
I'm sure a lot of people would love it though.

We're still waiting on post history, searches, etc, you know, shit they had in 1998.

Yeah, but that only serves us really. How much does TWL really care about this curious cabal of GF regulars? We probably are a reasonable chuck of web traffic, but we don't really help the site grow (isn't RomneyBot the most recent combatant among us? Even he's been here for well over a year...). Now giving a gateway to casual gamers to find their way to casual-competitive gaming, that should raise some eyebrows. Post edited by Puckfist at 9/7/2012 6:21:12 PM

I'm not saying the other isnt needed more. Im just saying something as simple as search and post history hasnt even been done yet.

That's debatable. Who joins an inactive website? Right now, until a new and popular team oriented game comes out, we're really the only group keeping this place afloat.

And judging by the games that have come out in the last eight years or so, the GF will continue to be the best thing going here.
