Soooo... When I checked on TWL a few months ago, this guy was in charge. Was TWL sold again?

he was never in charge.

Triston and Polaris always owned TWL, he was an admin some years ago, it was sold to Dr.Vonsock and then taken back by Triston and Polaris whom then decided to not continue this project so a small team of TWL admins took it over and here we are!

Dr. Von Sock "bought" the domain and name from Triston and Pol. He was supposed to revive and rebuild the site. Macarthur was contacted to help with this. DVS named Mac as commissioner. However DVS never followed through on anything he ever said he was going to do. He built a simple shell of a site and added in a few plug ins but kept promising more and never delivering. After it became pretty obvious that nothing was ever going to materialize, Macarthur resigned in frustration. After that the site turned into a porn spam clearinghouse. MacArthur later contacted Triston and asked that he reclaim the domain. At that point Tris took control of the domain back.

At the beginning, DVS had some great ideas and plans that could have moved TWL forward. However, in the end, it ended up being all talk. He made a LOT of promises that he could't/didn't keep. The staff was frustrated beyond words for all of them had put in tons of work and effort to no avail.

A group of older admins that had tried to work with DVS had been trying to start up their own league. They contacted Tris and offered to try and revive TWL. And we now have this project.

Mav, Redbeard, Streetz: please correct anything in here that I missed or that I do not know about. These are great guys that worked their butts off to try and revive TWL.

I wish the best for TWL and hope that it can be revived. But it is going to take a load of effort not only from these guys but the community in general. Only with everyone's help can this move forward. I am hoping that COD releasing mod tools and private servers will be a big boost to the effort here!

Sincerely,

Bomeseus

You hit it on the head. Just to update everyone on our status, we have enlisted the help of a lone volunteer to code a new ladder/league system for our site. He's working alone because we can't find anyone with coding experience to help. The volunteer we have is capable of doing the job but will require time since, as I've said, is working alone. We're looking and hoping for first quarter of this year to have a product in place.

Anyone with coding training/experience, please fill out a application and choose "Website Developer".

Awesome sir! Thank you for the in-depth explanation of what happened.

I, for one, sincerely appreciate the transparency. If you keep providing updates like this, I truly believe it will work to the benefit of the TWL Revival.

NP,

Mr. Inevitability.

I only wish I could code and help the guys. They are in need of all of the help they can get.

Mav, if you decide to code it in Cobol or fortran, give me a shout! LMAO

I'm happy you explained it to him, because I could not have been that detailed, but would have tried :)
