TOURNAMENT RULES:

The following rules apply for all Rocket League competitions that are organized by TeamWarfare League (herein TWL) and open to the public to sign up and take part. Besides these general regulations for amateur tournaments, there are several individual rules for each competition. You will find these on the particular tournament website.

GENERAL


1. Administration and Announcements

1. The TeamWarfare (herein called TWL) staff hold all rights to administrate the competition based on its rules and regulations. All players agree to respect the decisions made by any admin in the event of a match dispute.

2. Official announcements, as well as statements by/of admins at any place (e.g. competition website, support ticket reply, Discord, or Steam may overrule the following rules in order to make the competition as fair as possible. In case of contradicting declarations, the most recent announcement or admin statement will be upheld.

2. Participants & Teams


To be eligible for this tournament, the player must:
  • Reside in the North American Region
  • Have a valid Steam account with no previous VAC bans for one year
  • Be registered at TeamWarfare League with the same name they use in game and for this tournament

3. Committments

By signing up for and attending competitions, participants acknowledge without limitation to comply with the rules and regulations, official announcement(s), and with the statements and/or decisions made by the TWL staff.

  1. Every participant acknowledges the right for the administration to modify the rules and regulations for adjustments at any time without notice. Every effort will be made to notify every team in the event of a rule change via our official forums.
  2. Every participant has to show respect toward to the admins and good sportsmanship toward their fellow players. Severe insults and unfair or disrespectful behavior towards anyone will not be tolerated and will be punished.
  3. Every participant must always have the newest version of Steam and/or Rocket League installed on his/her PC in time before the match. Unless a new version comes out right before the match, "patching" will result in a delay of game penalty and forfeiture of "home field advantage" or "visiting team hosting." Should the delay be excessive, the player in question will be ruled ineligible for play.
  4. Every team accepts the official schedule of the competition and declares its ability to be available during those times.
  5. Every team and participant has to try to win every game at every stage of the competition. Purposefully losing for any reason is strictly forbidden and may result in forfeiture of participation in future TWL events.

4. Communication

  1. All communication between participants and TWL admins must be in the English language and will take place either in our Discord Channel or on the official TeamWarfare League forums.
  2. All communications between opposing teams should run through the TWL forums or other supported platforms, such as Discord or Steam. Team captains/match coordinators should instruct their members to take screenshots of all conversations in the event a team chooses to dispute a match result.

5. Cheating

  1. Cheating is a very serious offense as integrity is one of the most important parts of e-sports. Any players caught cheating will be instantly banned for one year from all TWL competitions and their team will forfeit the remainder of the tournament.

6. SCHEDULE

Match Times:

Unless otherwise stated, it is the responsibility of the players in a tournament to schedule matches in which they are involved. Teams have 72 hours to play their weekly match beginning on Friday at 3 pm Eastern Standard Time and running until Monday at 3 pm Eastern Standard Time. but if a match takes too long to organize and prevents a competition from progressing the administrators reserve the right to take any action they see fit to speed up the progression of the tournament.

Scheduling

Both team captains or match coordinators have to agree on a time to schedule the match. Communication on the TWL forums or other supported platform, such as Discord or Steam, is required. Team owners or members can add each other on the above online platforms and discuss the scheduling of the match. Screenshots are encouraged in the event a team files a dispute against the results of a match.

Re-Scheduling

Should a match need to be re-scheduled, the forum post for scheduling must be edited and both team captains reply they've agreed to the reschedule.b. Should a re-schedule need to take place, the match needs to be completed within the following 48 hours.

TEAMS & PLAYERS

Team Size

  • This is a 3 vs 3 competition.
  • Each player may only play for ONE team for the duration of the tournament. Smurfing is strongly prohibited!
  • A team may consist of no less than three (3) players, and no more than seven (7) players. This includes subs.
  • A maximum of two (2) substitute players (subs) are allowed on the roster. Subs may not have played for any other team in the tournament at any point. If found to have done so, they will be disqualified and the offending team will not be allowed to replace them.


Registration

  • Registration for the tournament opens July 1st, 2017. Registration closes July 22nd, 2017. Teams will be seeded July 23rd and will have six days to practice before their first match.
  • Team captains MUST register their team in the appropriate forum on the TWL forums in the following format:

  • Captains may organize and substitute their roster until 0800 on July 22nd, 2017, at which time the rosters will be locked and no further changes will be allowed to their roster for the duration of the tournament.
  • When signing up for a competition, a team agrees they will have enough players available to field a team for all matches for which they are eligible in the tournament. The team also agrees all players will have access to the platform on which the competition is being held.


Lineup Changes
  • Once registration has closed, teams will NOT be allowed to add players to their roster. Teams were given 21 full days to complete this assignment. This is to maintain integrity of the tournament and teams participating.
  • Teams may switch any players on their roster in between rounds and only in between rounds. One the round has started, no substitutions will be permitted.


HOSTING & SETTINGS

Lobby Hosting

  • In a Best of One situation, both teams should agree on the host and on the server.
  • In a Best of Three or Best of Five situation, both teams should agree on the host.
  • The basic hosting system for BO3/BO5 is Team 1 to host the first game, Team 2 the second game and Team 1 again to host the third game (if applicable) and so on for BO5.


DURING A GAME


Disconnects
  • If a player disconnects, itís up to his team if they want to continue the match or not. If a player disconnects, the rematch can happen only if both teams agrees.


Broadcasting
  • Every player and spectator is allowed to stream the game at any time. Keeping the stream footage is recommended, though not required.


Bugs
  • If any serious bugs occur, the game has to be quit immediately and the match has to be re-played. If a team doesnít agree on the rematch, a video recording of the bug is strongly recommended. The admin will decide then the outcome. Abusing a bug is forbidden.


Tools & Hacks and MOSS
  • The usage of any Rocket League tool aside from Steam and Rocket League during a match is strictly forbidden.
  • Players will be required to run MOSS in the background while playing in the tournament and submit their screenshots upon request to the anti-cheat team.


Ending

A game is finished at the end of the default 5 minutes if a team scored more goals than the opposing team. Should there be a tie, sudden death will occur and the first team to score wins that round. If the majority of a team leaves on purpose at any time, that will be considered a forfeit and the challenging team will advance. An administrator can place an end to a match at any time.

Result submission
  • The winning team is required to submit the match result on the match page. A screenshot of the match scoreboard after the game was finished, is required. Video of the match will also suffice.
  • The losing team has to confirm the match result submitted by the winning team on the match page.
  • Submitting wrong or false match results, not confirming a correct match result is strictly forbidden and punishable.
  • Fair-play is strongly encouraged!


RULE VIOLATION & PUNISHMENT:


Breaking of the rules or ignoring the order of an admin may result in a punishment for a whole team or a specific player. Type and amount is chosen by an admin.

  • Default Loss for one game
  • Default Loss for the whole match
  • Score Reduction (during a group stage)
  • Temporary or permanent ban from the competition
  • Ban from other TWL competitions
  • Possible Player Punishments
  • Temporary ban from the competition
  • Permanent ban from the competition
  • Ban from other TeamWarfare League competitions
  • Rule violations in other tournaments
  • Heavy rule violations on external Rocket League leagues or tournaments may also result in punishments for TWL competitions.
